SAS | The Power to Know

This workshop introduces SAS data mining solutions and provides a demonstration of SAS® Enterprise Miner™.

Learn how to:

  • Create data sources for customer segmentation and predictive modeling, and create and profile customer segments.
  • Develop several candidate predictive models, and evaluate and compare models on holdout data.
  • Score new data using the formula for a best model.

Course Outline:

Introduction to Data Mining and SAS® Enterprise Miner™

  • Customer segmentation (unsupervised classification). 
  • Predictive modeling (supervised classification).


Customer Segmentation

  • Define the business problem.
  • Explore the data.
  • Create segments.
  • Profile segments.


Predictive Modeling

  • Define the business problem.
  • Explore the data and prepare it for modeling.
  • Build and prepare predictive models.
  • Create a scoring data set and score new data internally to SAS Enterprise Miner.
  • Examine types of score code that allow for external model deployment.
