Randy Guard is responsible for the SAS brand, providing global, strategic direction and marketing vision for SAS® products and solutions. He oversees several operational business units, including global marketing, product marketing, go-to-market, sales enablement, customer experience management, corporate communications and creative services.

Since joining SAS in 2000, Guard has served in various marketing roles, helping to lead business development efforts and marketing initiatives across SAS business units. He works closely with SAS’ Research and Development organization to define and manage SAS’ product strategy based on market needs and customer input.

As part of his commitment to align marketing initiatives around new developments that businesses want and need, Guard’s teams focus on core initiatives, including analytics, artificial intelligence, customer intelligence, data management, fraud and financial crimes, and industries such as health and life sciences, retail, financial services and communications. Guard is also the executive lead for the new customer experience initiative.

Guard has more than 30 years of consulting, marketing and product development experience. He began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he led systems development and implementation efforts for clients across a variety of industries. His extensive background, along with a strong grasp of market dynamics, allows him to align marketing initiatives that position SAS at the forefront of new developments such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and cloud.

Guard holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Duke University, and he serves on the advisory board for IDeaS, a SAS company.
