SAS named a leader in digital decisioning platforms by independent research firm

SAS has been named a leader in The Forrester WaveTM: Digital Decisioning Platforms, Q4 2020. According to the report by independent research firm Forrester, “SAS injects world-class analytics into any decision – for decades the name SAS has been synonymous with leading advanced and predictive analytics.”

The report evaluated SAS Intelligent Decisioning, a comprehensive solution that combines business rules management, decision processing, real-time event detection, decision governance, and SAS’ powerful advanced analytics capability.

“In today’s world, where disruptions can hit at any moment, businesses need the ability to react quickly, making decisions which are both fast and accurate,” said Laurie Miles, Director of Analytics, SAS UK & Ireland. “Data and data analytics, powered by technology such as AI and machine learning, is key to this.”

The Forrester report states: “When complex analytics drives decisions, SAS Intelligent Decisioning builds on SAS’ legacy and excels at bringing the full breadth and depth of SAS’s storied analytics into decision logic. Based on the SAS® Viya® platform, it provides data preparation, data visualisation, statistics, machine learning (ML) optimisation, econometrics, and many more components that can all be used within decision logic.”

According to the Forrester report, “the best vendors provide easy-to-use tools for business experts to author decision logic and also include tools to manage the entire digital decision lifecycle. Such a combination offers enterprises a digital decisioning capability that will scale to numerous use cases.”

“At SAS, we are constantly trying to think of new ways to transform decision processes. Products such as SAS Intelligent Decisioning are a good example of this. The powerful, easy to use platform provides organisations with the best insights available and in real-time too. This can be done on a large scale, spanning across thousands of daily operational decisions to ensure companies are making the best choice at the most opportune moments,” continued Miles.

The Forrester report also evaluated SAS Model Manager - a single tool that streamlines model deployment and management, allowing comprehensive AI operationalisation - and gave SAS the highest possible score in the model operations (ModelOps) criterion.

On SAS Model Manager, Miles added: “Using SAS Model Manager, customers are able to govern, monitor and improve all the models at their disposal to get the best possible results with minimal oversight. It’s an invaluable tool which enables businesses to set up various models without the fear of getting it wrong.”
