Katherine Taylor specializes in the application of advanced analytics in financial services and risk management. Katherine has a background in traditional quantitative finance and has a solid understanding for machine learning and its use in financial services, particularly in risk management. She enjoys problem solving and likes to match the analytics challenges of SAS customers to modern software solutions. Katherine is involved in research and development and as well as implementation of advanced anlaytics in risk management. Her main area of interest is the adaptation of machine learning methods into financial risk management, considering the analytics advantages and addressing practical hurdles around model interpretabiltiy and governance.
Prior to joining SAS, Katherine was a quantitative analyst for a large electric utility. She holds a master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from North Carolina State University and bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
