Deliver channel-specific content to customers
Learn how to use tasks to deliver content to a customer's specific channel – e.g., mobile, web or email.
Tasks are used to deliver channel-specific content to your customers.
There are two types of tasks: standalone tasks and A/B test tasks: Use a standalone task to deliver content to your target audience. Use an A/B test task to compare the effectiveness of multiple creatives against your target audience.
A task contains all of the information and items needed to deliver content and monitor how that content is performing. You can edit the content and the items required to deliver it on the tabs that are available in a task.
When you create a task, it has a Designing status, which indicates that the task is still being worked on and is not ready to be published. When you finish working on your task, you can either mark it ready to be published, or you can publish it. Before you can successfully publish a task, any items included in that task must have a Ready status or an Active status. A task cannot be published if it contains items that have a Designing status or a Completed status. The items that your task depends on might include events, spots, segments, or creatives.
Tasks can be published on their own or included as part of an activity. An activity enables you to create and orchestrate your interactions with customers in real time by using tasks and conditions. When the task that you are creating is part of a larger plan for customer interaction, include that task in an activity. Tasks that are created from the Tasks interface can be added to an activity map after they have been created. However, a task cannot be added to an activity map after the task has been published. You can also create a task from within an activity map.
From the Tasks page, click Select to delete, copy, open or rename a task. Make it easier to find a task by entering part of the name in the search field, which reduces the number of entries in the Tasks table.
