About the Experts

Charu Shankar

SAS Senior Technical Training Consultant, Charu Shankar teaches by engaging with logic, visuals and analogies to spark critical thinking. She interviews users to recommend the right SAS training. SAS blogger, yoga teacher & chef, Charu also helps support users looking to land work using SAS through LinkedIn. In addition to teaching public and onsite classes, and SAS in universities, Charu has presented at over 100 SAS international user group conferences on SAS programming, SAS Viya, SAS Enterprise Guide, PROC SQL, Hadoop, Python, DS2 programming, tips and tricks, efficiencies.

Cristina Anton

As an Analytical Training Consultant for SAS, Cristina delivers public and custom courses and workshops on topics ranging from programming to statistical theory and data mining. 

Cristina has been an avid SAS user for over 10 years and has extensive experience in programming, data analysis and advanced analytics. Prior to joining SAS, Cristina worked as a programmer and analyst in the healthcare industry, managing projects and working alongside a team of data scientists to deliver complex analysis of clinical trials data.

Cristina holds a MSc in Statistics from the University of Toronto.

Lauren Cipriano 

Lauren Cipriano is an Associate Professor at the Ivey Business School and in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. She earned her PhD in Management Science and Engineering and MS in Statistics at Stanford University. Lauren’s research interests focus on the application of statistics, decision analysis, operations research, and systems analysis to health policy problems. Lauren previously worked at the Institute for Technology Assessment at Massachusetts General Hospital. Lauren was the 2018 winner of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health Dr. Maurice McGregor Award for Health Technology Assessment.

Steve Holder 

As the Head of Strategy and Advisory at SAS Canada Steve Holder is responsible for growing revenue and building the long-term vision for SAS in the Canada market.  As a member of the SAS Canada leadership team Steve owns the SAS customer advisory team, solution strategy, and managing the innovation agenda including higher education.  Steve leads the SAS Canada team of for the technology evangelists who specialize in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Management, Fraud, Risk and emerging technologies.  Steve’s passion is making technology make sense for everyone regardless of their technical skillset.

Prior to joining SAS Steve was held leadership positions at SAP and IBM.

With many years of software industry experience, spanning: management, solutions architecture, presales and sales, Steve brings alignment and execution across SAS’ customers, sales teams, and partners.

Steve received his Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and lives in Toronto with his wife and two daughters.  During his spare time, he enjoys traveling, cycling, skiing and spending time outdoors.
