Membership in the SAS Ottawa Platform User Society (SAS OPUS) offers a unique opportunity to enhance your understanding of the SAS Intelligence Platform, exchange ideas about using your software most productively and an opportunity to learn of new SAS products and services as soon as they become available.

1:30pm: What’s in “Your” Inbox? – Prepping Outlook Data for Analysis in SAS (Andrew Clapson, MD Financial Management)
There is a wealth of potentially valuable analytical information stored in corporate email servers, and the closest insights to home can be found in your own personal inbox. Using SAS, we will extract, process, and format a series of datasets built from Outlook calendar and inbox data, and then carry out some basic analysis on the resulting data

2:30pm: SAS Text Miner for Academic Research: Using Analytics to Understand the Field of Analytics (Hugh Cairns, SAS Canada)
This session showcases SAS Text Miner can be used by researchers to mine the unstructured article abstracts using Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) to profile the field and categorize abstracts into clusters that represent the intellectual communities researching analytics
