SAS Institute Canada Inc. made it onto the 2021 List of Best Workplaces™ for Giving Back

SAS Institute Canada Inc. is proud to announce that our organization has been named on the 2021 list of Best Workplaces™ for Giving Back.

SAS Institute Canada Inc. received this honour after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work®.

The list is based on direct feedback from employees of the hundreds of organizations that were surveyed by Great Place to Work®. The data has a 90% confidence and a plus or minus 5% margin of error.

To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work-Certified™ in the past year and at least a 90% of employees must feel good about the way their company contributes to community.  We determined the BEST based the overall Community Investment Index score from employees as well as the range and quality of programs which encourages workplace community investment.

As an organization with a wide breadth of resources and solutions, SAS is committed to ensuring everyone has an opportunity to learn new skills and build on existing ones through unique partnerships and programs.

"It's an honour to work with organizations that are steadfast in their outreach efforts and community support," said Cameron Dow, President, SAS Canada. "We're proud to be recognized in this year's list of Best Workplaces for Giving Back, but that doesn't happen without the foundation that's been laid by our partners in this space."

SAS Canada has helped several organizations uplift members of their community. SAS and local Toronto public school Market Lane have partnered together to foster a culture of giving back among its student population. During the holiday months in December, SAS supports five families in need that attend Market Lane Public School. Those five families are gifted baskets to help them obtain essential items such as clothing, food, and toys for children.

Last year, SAS donated $5,500 Scientists in School, a Canadian charitable organization offering science education and STEM workshops aligned with curriculums in elementary schools. The donation helped Scientists in School adopt one school serving a low-income community in Toronto, providing 20 virtual STEM enrichment workshops, one for every classroom.

SAS employees have also raised upwards of $20,000 for the Movember campaign to help raise money and awareness for men’s health. We look forward to continuing this in years to come.

Earlier this year, SAS Canada was also recognized as a Great Place to Work® in Canada and a Great Place to Work® for Women. In addition to building a culture of inclusion, SAS remains committed to using data to address major problems around the globe such as climate change.
