Cortex: The Online Analytics Simulation Game

You work on a team of data scientists for a non-profit organization. You’ll be given a dataset of 1 million potential donors. Using SAS, players will build predictive models to determine who to contact in their fundraising campaign. Team leaders upload their decisions to the leaderboard to see where they rank.

The top teams will present their findings to a panel of industry judges at the end of the week.
Participants and winners will earn a SAS e-badge (along with bragging rights!).

Open to George Brown College students. Teams should not exceed 3-4 students per team. If you are registering as a team, please have each member register and enter a team name. If you don’t have a team name yet, please just use a placeholder and ensure each member enters the same information. Team names can be changed later. If you are registering as an individual, you will be placed on a team during the event kickoff. Spots are limited!

Kickoff: Monday, May 27, 10 – 11 a.m.
Office hours: Wednesday, May 29, 12 – 1 p.m.
Finals: Friday, May 31 (timing TBC)

This is a virtual event. Meeting details will be circulated to teams closer to kickoff, and sessions will be recorded for participants unable to join live.
