Steve Holder
National Analytics Lead, SAS Canada

As National Practice Lead Analytics for SAS Canada Steve Holder is responsible for driving the analytics solution strategy in Canada; providing thought leadership for the Analytics and Big Data portfolio.  A Canadian analytics evangelist Steve has seen first-hand how the use of analytics can help customers solve the most intractable problems; make the best decisions possible and unearth new opportunities.   Steve’s passion is making technology make sense for everyone regardless of their technical skillset.

With over two decades of software industry experience, spanning: management, solutions architecture, presales and sales, Steve brings alignment and consistent execution across SAS’ enterprise, small and medium business segment and channel customers.  

Prior to joining SAS in 2014 Steve was regional delivery director at IBM and Director of solution strategy at SAP. Steve received his Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and lives in Toronto with his wife and two daughters.  During his spare time he enjoys traveling, cycling, skiing and spending time outdoors.

Bob Schafer
Principal, Retailigent Solutions

Since graduating from The University of Michigan, School of Business Administration in 1983, Mr. Schafer has accumulated years of business experience working with a significant number of retailers and wholesalers in the areas of merchandising business process and system design, development, integration and implementation. Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 2007, Mr. Schafer spent over 15 years as a principal of MarketMAX, Inc., a Merchandise Intelligence Software Company, where he was largely responsible for leading the solution design and implementation teams, then with SAS Institute, the world’s leading provider of Business Analytics which acquired MarketMAX in 2003.

Mr. Schafer’s strong understanding of the business objectives as well as the various system capabilities and architectures are critical components when designing a business process and the approach to implementing and integrating solutions within the overall Merchandising environment.

Prior to Marketmax and SAS, as a Certified Public Accountant (1985), Mr. Schafer spent five years in “Big Eight” Public Accounting and four years as the CFO and Operations Director of a consumer products manufacturing company which provided a tremendous foundation for his continuing career.

Monique Duquette
Customer Intelligence Lead, SAS Canada

Monique Duquette is the Customer Intelligence Practice Lead for SAS Canada. In this role, Monique bridges her inner creative, with her passion for marketing and her inner 'geek' to help marketing organizations elevate their marketing with decisiveness and agility.

With over a decade of experience in the design and delivery of integrated marketing systems, Monique brings world-class talent and expertise at mapping marketing technology to address the inherent challenges in brand planning, managing marketing financials, creative development and agency collaboration. Monique has consulted with some of the world’s leading brands such as Bank of America, Kraft Foods & Mondelez, P&G, Warner Bros., and Viacom in the areas of integrated marketing management, marketing operations management and digital asset management.

Prior to consulting, Monique held several marketing roles where she experienced first-hand, the pain of everyday marketers struggling to gain real-time insights into their business, while striving to achieve the levels of accountability required of the modern marketer. It is her background in the 'trenches' that fires her passion for helping marketers break-free from the confines of manual management, leverage technology the right way and help them extract value from their technology investments.
