Dr. Robert P. Taylor
Institute of Public Administration (IPAC)

Dr. Taylor has had an extensive professional career spanning over 25 years. As the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing’s Municipal Services Division, Rob was responsible for coordinating and delivering key ministry and government priorities.

Prior to joining Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in 2008, Rob was the acting Assistant Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Research and Innovation. Before that, Dr. Taylor was the Director of the Land and Waters Branch at the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Rob’s career extends beyond the Ontario Public Service and includes working as the Planning Director with the Municipality of Prince Edward County, and as a team leader in areas of Southern Africa to help establish essential municipal and environmental programs. He has also worked extensively with Queen’s University on a number of programs with the Chinese government.

Dr. Taylor was appointed Chief Executive Officer for the Institute of Public Administration of Canada in November 2010, a position he currently holds.

Rob earned a Ph.D. from the University of South Africa, where his studies focused on strategic planning. He has a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Queen’s University, and an undergraduate degree in Urban Geography from McGill University.

Ian Ghent

Ian is a financial crimes and compliance specialist with SAS' Security Intelligence Practice. He has a strong background in risk, compliance, and fraud analytics. His formal training comes from an Honours Computer Science degree from Lakehead University, along with multiple SAS certifications. His broad expertise, have been leveraged by many clients in the utilities, software, retail, health care, government, financial, and telecom sectors in Canada and abroad. With over 14 years of SAS knowledge, he has a wealth of experience developing SAS based data management and analytical solutions. He has been part of SAS Institute Canada in Ottawa for the past 4 years.

Greg Henderson
Government Practice Principal
Fraud and Security Intelligence Global Practice

Greg Henderson is the Global Government Lead for the Fraud and Security Intelligence Practice at SAS. He is responsible for developing and supporting SAS’ global strategy related to addressing government fraud, improper payments and security issues. Greg has over 15 years of experience in fraud and financial crimes in both the public and private sector, and has been on the forefront of SAS’ solutions for banking fraud, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing, and most recently in developing SAS’ enterprise approach to fraud detection and prevention in the public sector.

For the past 10 years, Greg has focused exclusively on helping government clients leverage data and analytics to improve government operations, address difficult economic and budgetary challenges, and deliver services to citizens in the most efficient and effective manner.

Greg is a published author of several papers, is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has provided legislative testimony on the topic of fraud and financial crimes.  He holds a Batchelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University, and resides in Raleigh, NC.


Dan Finerty

Dan Finerty is a 30 year veteran in the Information Management discipline. He started his career at IBM as a System Engineer and developed his expertise in application and data management. This experience was developed in several roles throughout sales, marketing and professional services consulting roles. Dan continued at Progress Software as a thought leader in mainframe application and data integration. He is currently responsible in for providing guidance to customers to maximize their return on investment in Advanced Analytics through the strategic deployment Data Management capabilities.
