Eli Collins, Chief Technologist, Cloudera
Eli is Cloudera's Chief Technologist. He previously lead Cloudera’s Platform  team, is an active contributor to Apache Hadoop and is a member of its project management committee (PMC) at the Apache Software Foundation. Prior to Cloudera, Eli worked on processor virtualization and Linux at VMware. Eli holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from New York University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, respectively.

Bryan Harris serves as the Director of Research and Development for Cyber Analytic Solutions at SAS. With over 19 years of technical and executive expertise in the development and deployment of advanced analytic solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC), Mr. Harris has pioneered the integration of stream processing technologies with large-scale analytic platforms that can support both the data volume and velocity required for sensor-driven intelligence analysis. Mr. Harris holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

Stephen Gardiner, Managing Director, Accenture
Stephen Joined Accenture in 1999 and was promoted to Accenture Leadership in 2005. He has served clients in Financial Services and Telecom principally in the area of customer, channel and market strategy and transformation.
Stephen has led work for senior leadership team across a range of strategic and transformation areas including market and growth strategy, customer and channel strategy, digital strategy and transformation as well as merger strategy and execution. Over time Stephen has held Canadian leadership roles as Managing Director of Accenture Strategy, Accenture Management Consulting prior to assuming current role of Managing Director of Accenture Digital in Canada.
Stephen holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fountainebleau France and a BComm from McGill in Montreal and lives in Toronto with his wife Valerie and daughter Renee.

Leon Bloom

Leon Bloom, Partner, Enterprise Risk Services (ERS), Financial Services Industry Practice Leader, Deloitte
Leon is Deloitte’s Enterprise Risk Canadian Financial Services industry leader. He is recognized globally for his thought leadership and expertise in assisting financial institution clients with risk and capital management solutions. In addition to his current role, Leon has served several terms as an Executive Board member of the firm’s Global Financial Services Industry (GFSI) practice and has also served as the firm’s GFSI Global Deputy Managing Partner.

Leon specializes in the area of risk and capital management including in the asset management, property & casualty insurance, life insurance, reinsurance and banking sectors. Wes Gill

Wes Gill, Executive Lead, Enterprise Risk Management, SAS Canada
A Professional Engineer and Certified Management Accountant, Mr. Gill has spent over twenty-five years in risk management, focusing on policy, methodology and infrastructure.

Mr. Gill is the Executive Lead, Enterprise Risk Manager, with SAS Institute (Canada) Inc.  In this role he is responsible for executive relations and initiatives with SAS customers and partners in the areas of governance, risk (ERM) and compliance.  Since joining SAS in 2007, Mr. Gill has been instrumental in growing SAS’ presence within the financial services, government and utility sectors in Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Prior to joining SAS Institute in Toronto, Mr. Gill had been an Executive with one of Canada’s top five multi-national banks where he was instrumental in leading the global Basel II program, one of the largest projects ever undertaken by the Bank.  Concurrently, Mr. Gill also held the role of Secretary for the Bank’s Capital and Risk Committee and Secretary of the Bank’s Policy and Standards Board.


Patrick-Angeles

Patrick Angeles, Chief Architect, Financial Services, Cloudera
Patrick Angeles is Cloudera's Financial Services Chief Architect. He has over five years of experience as a Hadoop architect, and has presided over several large-scale Hadoop rollouts in financial services and other industries. Prior to Cloudera, Patrick was the chief architect at Simulmedia, where he built a scale-out log processing and analytic engine for TV set-top boxes using Hadoop. In his 18 year career, Patrick has held various technical management and leadership roles in the areas of Big Data, Enterprise Java, e-commerce, web analytics, security and cryptography. Patrick holds a BA in English and Computer Science from Oberlin College.

woody christy

Woody Christy, Solutions Architect, Partner Engineering, Cloudera
Woody Christy works in Partner Engineering as a Solutions Architect focusing on SAS for Cloudera. He works to ensure that SAS software is designed to leverage best practices on Cloudera Systems and that Cloudera has the features that SAS needs. Woody has been working with distributed systems his entire career and has spent the last several years focusing on Hadoop. He ran the Big Data team for a large German investment bank where he was responsible for architecting and rolling out several initiatives, including the first set of Hadoop clusters. Woody also has a background in advanced analytics. He worked in quantitative risk for a major US bank and built the first data collection and analytics system for Video on Demand for the second largest US cable company.

Marc Smith

Marc Smith, Enterprise Architect, SAS Americas
Marc Smith is an Enterprise Architect in the SAS Americas enterprise architecture practice. He works with teams across US and Canada to solve customers’ complex business problems and to drive sales through expertise in high performance analytics. Marc has been architecting, implementing, and selling Business Analytics applications and solutions for over 20 years in financial services, government, telecommunication, retail, health and life sciences, energy, mining and metallurgy industries.

 

John Vink

John Vink, AVP Technology Solutions, Compliance & AML, TD Bank Financial Group
John currently heads the Technology Group for AML at TD Bank Group. In this role he provides strategic direction and oversight for all Canadian and Enterprise technology systems for the TD Global AML Group relating AML Transaction Monitoring, the identification of high risk customers, enhanced due diligence, customer name screening and transaction filtering, and regulatory reporting, including STRs and LCTRs.

John has over 22 years of technology experience in the Financial Services industry at TD Bank with exposure to Retail, Wholesale, Payments, Finance, Compliance and AML applications. John has a honors Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.


dave stewart

Dave Stewart, Director of Financial Crimes and Compliance, SAS
David Stewart is responsible for the development of strategy, driving product management and supporting the marketing of SAS' financial crimes and compliance solutions in Canada, Latin America and the United States. He works closely with financial services customers, regulatory agencies, research and development, and implementation teams to deliver industry best practices for behavior detection and complying with anti-money laundering and fair banking regulations.

Previously, Stewart served as a SAS Business Manager at one of the world's largest financial institutions. He has worked exclusively with financial services companies during the last 15 years on various consumer risk, marketing and compliance initiatives.

Stewart is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from North Carolina State University.
