Successful projects awarded at SAS Forum Belux
ING, FPS Finance and StepStone awarded with the Analytics in Action Award
From the many successful projects realized by our customers this year, we picked out 3 to be put in the spotlight. This year, ING, FPS Finance and StepStone all won an "Analytics in Action" award.
ING won the award for the implementation of SAS Decision Manager, a framework for operationalizing ING credit risk models. The award was collected by Coralie Van Bever, Manager Operational Models & Decision Support, and Jonas Buyle, Team Manager Data Analytics. The aim of the project was to create an integrated end-to-end solution in which models are developed and deployed in the same language. ING managed to drastically reduce the deployment time for models, while avoiding the technical errors which may occur during the translation from one language to another.
FPS Finance was given the award for the implementation of a data-driven debt relationship management. Luc De Dobbeleer, Administrateur-generaal van de Algemene Administratie van de Inning en de Invordering/Administrateur général de l'Administration Générale de la Perception et du Recouvrement, and Adil Soussi Nachit, Head of applications management, received the award and explained that the use of data mining technologies and analytical models is important for the administration to verify the solvency of companies. In the future, the administration aims to let datamining evolve towards big data analytics, which will allow them to analyze and predict the behavior of tax payers even more accurately.
StepStone received the award for their proof of concept in matching job seekers and employers with more relevant offers and services at the right time. Jan Heiremans, COO StepStone, Managing Director Belgium, received the award. It is StepStone’s goal to use analytics in a different way. For example to predict when a company will need to hire new staff and how many candidates they can expect for a certain vacancy. StepStone will also use statistics to check whether a candidate is the right match for a vacancy.
Keyrus awarded with the Innovation Partner Award
Partner Keyrus was awarded for their ability to demonstrate the business value of SAS’ knowledge to customers like Fedex, Torfs, StepStone and many others.
Frank Rossaert, Managing Director Keyrus Data Intelligence, and Carl Sablon, senior consultant at Keyrus, reacted after receiving the award: “Keyrus is already working 6 years with SAS. Besides the strength of the solutions, you have also a human factor to success. We work very closely with the consultants and support teams, are both success-driven and that’s the way to come to a successful project”.
We hope that you enjoyed as many riveting encounters with industry peers
during the network moments as we did.
The demand for SAS knowledge and expertise significantly exceeds the number of skilled people available in the Belux region.
As an answer to this market demand for Data Scientists, SAS offers to students a program to help make up the shortage by organizing the ‘SAS Certified Young Potentials’ (SCYP) program (www.scyp.be).
This ‘SAS Certified Young Potentials’ program is a free learning program to get trained in SAS and obtain a SAS Certificate in the core SAS language, SAS Base.
SAS wants to support further this growing SCYP Alumni base, and help them fine-tune their data scientist profile.
Exclusive offer (15 seats available) during our Forum 2016: free Certification sessions and an entrance to the SAS Forum after the Certification itself.
Concerned students received an invitation, can apply to the Certification of their choice (SAS Certified Advanced Programmer, SAS Certified Statistical Business Analyst, SAS Certified Visual Business Analyst), and will receive an email with further information once they are selected.
This event is no longer available for registration.
