The Essential Network (TEN) is a digital mental health hub created by the Black Dog Institute to support health professionals impacted by the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic. TEN sounded great in theory, but unfortunately, health professionals rarely use mental health services. Dr Baldwin will discuss how the TEN team used insights from CI360 to shape TEN into a service that health professionals would actually use.

About the Experts

Dr Peter Baldwin
Head of Clinical Research at Black Dog Institute

Dr Peter Baldwin is a Clinical Research Fellow and Clinical Psychologist at the Black Dog Institute. Peter’s research focuses on technology-enabled mental health, from applied cognitive neuroscience to integrated digital models of mental health care. He is currently the research and clinical lead for a national mental health hub for Australian health professionals, where he has spent the last two years studying and supporting the mental health of doctors, nurses and allied health practitioners. He also leads a trial evaluating the world’s first fully automated digital mental health program for people with intellectual disabilities. Outside research, Peter is a practicing clinician specialising in complex mental health and sits on the Interdisciplinary Clinical Advisory Group for the Victorian Ministry of Health and Wellbeing.

Joe Chea (Host)
Senior Customer Success Manager, SAS

Joe is an Organisational Psychologist with over 15 years professional experience across data science, customer and marketing analytics, market research and operational excellence, including change management. Joe has consulted across a range of industries including financial services, telecommunications, hospitality, transport and logistics and government. Prior to joining SAS, Joe led NAB Marketing’s Performance Analytics team and was a Data Scientist at ANZ.
