SAS brings decision intelligence to Microsoft Fabric at FabCon Europe 2026

SAS Decision Builder is the enterprise decision intelligence solution on Microsoft Fabric, to be showcased at Europe’s largest Fabric conference

For organizations drowning in data insights without clear next steps, SAS® Decision Builder on Microsoft Fabric provides a path to more answers that users can trust. In today’s digital age, there is neither a shortage of data nor questions it can produce. The proliferation of AI tools available to customers can offer countless predictions, but few solutions tell them what they can and should do with all the data they’ve collected, curated and analyzed.

SAS answers the ubiquitous “What next?” question by arming Microsoft Fabric users with the AI-powered insights they need not only to answer the questions their data asks, but to act on them with governed, repeatable business decisions. It’s the difference between insight and action. Without it, fraud alerts go unanswered, lenders’ approvals stall and production lines halt. The solution will be on showcase at the European Microsoft Fabric + SQL Community Conference in Barcelona later this month.

Solving for the last mile

SAS, a global leader in data and AI, built SAS Decision Builder on Microsoft Fabric with SAS’ industry-leading decision intelligence capabilities, which major analysts have lauded for its comprehensive offerings and advanced AI techniques. The Fabric integration allows customers to design, test, automate and govern decision workflows by:

  • Analyzing enterprise data securely stored in Fabric (the offering connects with key capabilities like Power BI and Microsoft OneLake, so users don’t have to go anywhere else).
  • Easily tapping into the power of AI to create decision workflows that combine business rules and predictive models for faster results.
  • Quickly scoring the propensity for hundreds or thousands of customer segments.
  • Accounting for business rules and policies, like regulatory restraints, risk thresholds and eligibility logic.

The outcome is a clear next best action, executed automatically or after human approval depending on the business case. SAS’ integration also provides detailed monitoring and visibility into how decisions are reached with built-in governance that’s mission-critical to highly regulated industries like financial services.

Power in partnership

SAS and Microsoft announced an extensive technology and go-to-market strategic partnership in 2020. In 2025, the duo extended their collaboration for another five years.

“Customers are increasingly seeing decision problems over just data problems. SAS Decision Builder provides a trusted, straightforward and effective way for them to determine what’s next,” said Jared Peterson, Senior Vice President of R&D at SAS. “It’s a testament to the innovation that comes out of our partnership with Microsoft and how we’re helping customers go from thinking to doing, which is a big stumbling block for a lot of enterprise AI offerings.”

“This integration gives customers an important new way to move from trusted data and insights to decisions and action,” said Dipti Borkar, Vice President of Microsoft IQ and OneLake at Microsoft. “By bringing these capabilities into Microsoft Fabric, customers can streamline the decision lifecycle while maintaining the governance and control their businesses require.”
