SAS honored in Fast Company Middle East’s Most Innovate Companies 2022 Awards

SAS, the leader in analytics and AI, has been nominated for the prestigious Fast Company Middle East's Most Innovative Companies 2022 awards. SAS was honored as one of the most innovative companies in artificial intelligence (AI), for creating solutions for a better future. 

Helping organizations solve the problems of today and innovate for tomorrow, SAS works with the private, public, and government sectors to address pressing challenges, including the environment and health. In this context, SAS advanced analytics and AI solutions have been important tools for health organizations all around the world during the pandemic, allowing them to remain resilient and reimagine the future.

Like most of the other nations, the UAE healthcare system had to be ready overnight. SAS’s contribution to the Emirates Health Services (EHS) and its advanced governmental health care system, comprised of 17 hospitals and many COVID-19 field hospitals, was concentrated on three key areas. More precisely, EHS deployed SAS analytics models and AI to predict COVID-19 ICU mortality risk at hospitals, as well as inpatient admission in emergency departments, resulting in care excellence via resource optimization and improved clinical and financial results. Due to the fact that no-shows represent another significant sustainability concern, EHS was also able to forecast no-show appointments thanks to the power of SAS analytics and AI. This highly accurate model improved the productivity and operational efficiency of doctors.

An efficient healthcare system is the only way to respond to disruptive events that put it under strain, therefore the implementation of advanced, innovative technologies has a profound social impact. These efforts aided the EHS in establishing itself as a regional leader by adopting a smart approach to fight the pandemic.
