SAS named a Best Workplace in Technology by Fortune

Analytics leader attracts top tech talent with innovative and creative workplace culture

A commitment to successfully inspiring, motivating and retaining employees has earned SAS recognition as one of the 2021 Fortune Best Workplaces in TechnologyTM. As the leader in massively parallel analytics and AI, it’s crucial for the workplace culture champion to attract and motivate top tech talent, especially while the demand for employees with technical training remains high.

Even through the challenges of this past year, SAS has engaged and empowered employees by fostering a meaningful virtual workplace through unique and innovative ways, remaining true to its flexible culture and focusing on employee well-being. By keeping employees happy for more than four decades, SAS has demonstrated continued business success and increased customer satisfaction while also retaining its leadership in AI and analytics solutions for big data.

“This recognition underscores two of our core principles: maintaining a culture of trust which is key to a great workplace and a commitment to continuous innovation,” said Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS. “Empowering and supporting employees helps spark their curiosity and inspires them to make a difference in the world.”

Throughout the pandemic, SAS continued to prioritize employee health and well-being by implementing virtual offerings to support all employees – from career development and parenting needs to mental health seminars and exercise classes. The company also released free online learning offerings in response to COVID-19 that can be accessed and enjoyed by employees and their children as well as the general public.

“It’s more than fancy perks at the Best Workplaces in Technology. Employees at the companies praised their leaders for their incredible transparency and care during this pandemic year,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, VP of Global Recognition at Great Place to Work. “Even while working from home, employees said they felt more connected to their colleagues and their communities than ever.”

To determine the 2021 Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Technology, Great Place to Work® analyzed survey feedback from more than 122,000 employees working in the tech industry in the US. Employees responded to more than 60 survey questions anonymously rating their employers. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.

In addition to numerous workplace rankings, SAS is recognized annually as one of Fortune’s Great Places to Work in the US and a World’s Best Workplace. SAS has also recently been named a Most Innovative Company by Fast Company, a Best in Business by Inc. Magazine and one of People Magazine’s 50 Companies That Care.
