Alex's Bio

Alex joined SAS in December 2019. He currently leads portfolio readiness for SAS' global health care business, focusing on community enablement, product launch strategies and marketing within the critical partner ecosystem. In his previous role, Alex led consumer experience initiatives focused on helping the largest health insurers and hospitals in the US drive better health outcomes by transforming patient and member experiences. He is also the host of The Health Pulse podcast series, part of the Analytics Exchange: Podcasts From SAS, which explores fresh perspectives on digital transformation in health care and life sciences.

Prior to joining SAS, Alex held leadership roles in corporate strategy at Blue Cross NC, Geisinger Health Plan and Geisinger Health. He also co-founded the Advancement League, a membership organization focused on helping health care leaders find careers they love with strong community impact.

Alex has a bachelor’s degree in public health from Brigham Young University. He also holds dual master's degrees in health care administration and public health from the University of Utah, where he was a Lassonde Entrepreneur Scholarship award winner and helped launch leading telehealth provider Doxy.me.

“I see health care changing more in the next 20 years than it has in the last 100, and technology will play a huge role in that. Advanced analytics, machine learning and AI – and the incredible people behind the machines – will finally deliver on the cost, quality and experience goals we hope for. For a long time, I’ve used the tagline, 'The future of health is together,' and I believe a healthier future will truly require the involvement of all of us.” Alex Maiersperger Global Principal, Health Care US-Based
