Sérgio Sousa has been in the IT industry for over 17 years with the last 8 with the European DataCenter team at Cisco.
Before that he worked in the financial sector in Switzerland, system integrators (covering multi-architecture and multi-vendor solutions) and education sector.

One of his motivations is to spend time building solutions to speed up time to value. Virtualization specialist by experience, he has lead and supported multi-million server and desktop virtualization projects across Europe. Usual speaker at large industry conferences (Cisco Live, VMworld, Citrix Synergy, etc) he believes that clouds are real even though he lives in a sunny country.

These days he is focused on enabling BigData and Analytics solutions and has been very active on designing architectures that optimize time to value. As part of this role, he has been working actively with SAS Institute to bring joint solutions to the European market.

Sérgio Sousa has a master degree in Computer Science from the University of Coimbra.
