SAS® Visual Statistics offers powerful, interactive, in-memory software for predictive and exploratory data analysis
SAS is putting the finishing touches on its new, highly interactive, drag-and-drop environment for quickly building predictive models and presenting results through data visualization. Running on the revolutionary in-memory SAS architecture, the new software loads data once and retains it for repetitive analysis.
SAS® Visual Statistics, available in July, lets statisticians and data scientists employ the graphical interface popularized by SAS Visual Analytics to quickly analyze complex data of any size. Bolstering SAS Visual Statistics with SAS Visual Analytics helps users quickly discover relationships between variables to determine which will affect outcomes.
Multiple users can build and modify predictive models on large volumes of diverse data, using analytical methods including regression and estimation, classification and clustering.
“SAS’ innovative analytics will provide enterprises with faster, more accurate insights,” said Wayne Thompson, SAS Chief Data Scientist. “Applying advanced analytics methods to big data will help our customers increase their competitiveness.”
SAS Visual Statistics lays a foundation and path for customers to use more advanced analytics, such as model development, assessment and scoring. “Data scientists can quickly identify the predictive drivers among explanatory variables, and interactively discover outliers and data discrepancies with the click of a mouse,” said Thompson.
The speed of in-memory analytics also enhances productivity. Multiple users can instantly see the impact of changing model settings, such as adding new variables or removing outliers. They can easily and concurrently create models by specific variables, groups or segments to predict multiple outcomes.
SAS Visual Statistics is not just for big data. It is equally valuable for users in departmental deployments or midsize businesses. To meet varying customer needs, SAS Visual Statistics operates on several platforms, including database appliances from Pivotal and Teradata, Hadoop distributions from Cloudera and Hortonworks, or departmental servers.
