How long have you been using SAS®?
What SAS products have you used in the past and what products and solutions are you currently using?
In the past I've used Base SAS, SAS/FSP®, SAS/STAT®, PROC IML, SAS/GRAPH® and SAS/OR®. I currently use Base SAS.
What is a problem you have solved using SAS?
Although I did not have access to the Oracle database underlying the Primavera scheduling software used for the 2010 Census schedule, I was able to read Excel spreadsheets dumped by a contractor from the schedule database. After reading the schedule data into SAS, my manager was the only manager with a list giving the status of each of her 2010 Census activities.
What is the most innovative way you have used SAS?
You can read about one of the most innovative ways I’ve used SAS in the paper I presented at NESUG 2007: Resampling Census Data for Survey Data Analysis.
What is your most memorable SAS moment?
I filled in for another SAS programmer on a SAS Bowl team at a NESUG conference. I answered more questions than I thought I could!
How has SAS changed in the time you have been using it?
There are fewer users running SAS in batch and there is less emphasis on the statistical applications now as opposed to data processing.
Have you ever attended a SAS users group meeting or SAS Global Forum? If yes, please list them.
Yes. About twenty NESUG conferences beginning with NESUG '92, SESUG 2011, SUGI 16, SUGI 18 and SUGI 24.
Has your work with SAS been influenced by any other members of the SAS community?
If you could point a new SAS user to one resource, what would it be?
