Highlights from our last meeting:
The last meeting was held on May 13th, 2008 at the University of Saskatchewan.
Matt Malczewski (assistant to Christy Hobley, the SAS User Group Program Manager)
provided an update from SAS on user group activities. Guest speaker Peter Eberhardt
(Fernwood Consulting Group Inc.) presented ‘Efficiencies With Large Datasets’ and ‘Things
Dr. Johnson Never Told Me: An Introduction To SAS Dictionary Tables’,
and incoming Saskatoon user group Executive Committee President Brad Zimmer
spoke on his experiences at SAS Global Forum and gave a talk entitled ‘Plotting
Petroleum Distribution Points with SAS Maps / PROC GMAP’. Finally, Alice
Li offered a book review of ‘Step By Step Statistical Analysis Using
SAS’, and Mike Woolley of SaskTel demonstrated how his organization uses
SAS Marketing Automation.

Meet the Executive:
Mark Lucas (Institutional Analysis, University of Saskatchewan) – President.
Mark has held various IT positions at the University
of Saskatchewan and is currently working as a Senior Research Analyst for Institutional
Analysis (IA). For the past two years, Mark has been performing various data
analysis activities using Base SAS and SAS ODS and is now leading the development
of IAs Data Warehouse.
Brad Zimmer (Federated Cooperatives, Ltd.) – President.
Robert Schultz (Institutional Analysis, University of Saskatchewan) – Past
President.
Sabine Banniza, Ph.D. (Crop Development Centre / Plant Pathology,
University of Saskatchewan) – Program Chair.
