John Engler is President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the largest industry trade group in America representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. A former three-term governor of Michigan, Engler became NAM President on October 1, 2004.
As NAM President, Engler is a leading advocate for the nearly 12 million Americans employed directly in manufacturing, educating the public and policymakers on issues that affect this critical sector of the US economy. He promotes a broad-based agenda for maintaining US competitiveness by lifting unnecessary burdens on manufacturing: excessive taxation and regulation, the high cost of health care, expensive litigation and soaring energy costs.

Bob Parker is IDC's Manufacturing and Retail Insights Group Vice President for Research. Before joining IDC to oversee the launch of these practices, Parker spent six years with AMR as a Research Vice President covering emerging technology, enterprise software and industry IT strategies. Prior to AMR, Parker spent more than 15 years in technology and operations management, holding a number of senior positions. He holds an MBA, with a concentration in decision support systems, from New Hampshire College, and a bachelor's degree in computer science and accounting from Rivier College.
Parker is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including NASSCOM, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and various technology vendor events. He is frequently quoted in business, technology and industry publications.
Global Marketing Manager for Manufacturing
Michael Newkirk is the Global Industry Marketing Manager for Manufacturing at SAS. Newkirk has a 30-year background in manufacturing-based companies, primarily in capital equipment for automotive, aerospace and defense, and electronics assembly, and spent more than 17 years in service support management. He is responsible for the development of industry-specific marketing initiatives for SAS® solutions.
Newkirk has a bachelor’s degree in industrial management and an MBA. He has been certified by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers since 1983.
