James Lane began working as the superintendent of Goochland County Public Schools in December 2012. In this capacity, he works with the school board, faculty and staff, and community to build a world-class school system that can be a model for how to improve the educational outcomes of all children. Lane holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in teaching from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MSA degree in teaching from North Carolina State University and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Virginia.
