Michiel Nel

Director, South African Insurance Crime Bureau SA Flag

The first thing ingrained in us when commencing studies in BCom Law at the University of Pretoria was that there would not be sufficient job opportunities.  Secondly, we were taught to question everything.  Unfortunately, I didn’t question the first statement and set about the pursuit of vastly divergent careers while completing my degree part time.

I gained experience from being a waiter, DJ, insurance broker, magazine editor, and male model amongst others and was fortunate to recognise and apply elements that I learned from each of these jobs throughout my career.  I have worked in the financial services industry for 13 years and currently apply my skills as an Executive Director of the South African Insurance Crime Bureau.
I am passionate about doing the right thing, understanding the inner workings of business, cycling and my family.
