Speaker Bios & PhotosPress Briefing SpeakersDon Cooper-Williams Don Cooper-Williams is the Executive Director of Marketing and Alliances for SAS Asia Pacific region. Don has over 30 years experience in the IT market where he has held senior positions in Sales and Marketing with leading organisations such Olivetti, Digital Equipment, SAP and 3Com. He has been instrumental in the successful marketing of both hardware and software products and solutions in markets such as South Africa, Italy and the Asia Pacific region. Notably, he was responsible for the success of the Alpha 64 bit introduction into Asia Pacific and was instrumental in the growth of SAP in the Australia and New Zealand region during the 90's. Don has been with SAS for seven years and is resident in Sydney, Australia. His personal philosophy is to "change mind-sets through influence" and to deliver strategic direction growth through the disciplines of Marketing. David Hughes As the Vice President of Asia Pacific Operations for SAS, David Hughes is responsible for managing operations, developing new business, and implementing business practices that support SAS' Pan-Asian and global initiatives. Named to this role in April 2009, he is committed to listening to customers and understanding their unique business needs, accelerating SAS' total software revenue growth and increasing profitability in more than 31 regional offices. The position is based in SAS' Singapore office. Hughes' history with SAS spans 15 years. Most recently Vice President, Sales, for SAS Canada, his leadership and proven track record were critical in that country's incremental annual growth, which helped to establish significant market share across multiple industries. During his tenure, Hughes' extensive industry experience allowed him to develop a strong infrastructure and recruit top talent, strengthening sales performance and making SAS Canada one of SAS' most successful subsidiaries. Hughes majored in English at the University of Ottawa and has more than 25 years of experience in sales and executive leadership. Prior to joining SAS, he held positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and the Thomson Corporation. John Brocklebank John Brocklebank, VP of SAS Solutions OnDemand, oversees SAS’ growing menu of hosted applications, directing product research and development, marketing, sales, program management, IT, quality assurance, and documentation. Current products and services address critical issues in marketing, fraud detection, drug development and education, as well as Advanced Analytics Lab and Education Value Added Assessment System (EVAAS) ASP educational testing (K-12). Previously a Senior Research and Development Director for SAS' Analytic ASP, John joined SAS in 1981. He earned a PhD in statistics from NC State University, where he was adjunct professor from 1999-2000. John holds six US patents and has published some 30 papers and presentations. SAS Executive SpeakersMikael Hagström As the executive vice president of Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific for SAS, Mikael Hagström is passionate about providing a culture where innovation can flourish, resulting in market leadership both for the organization and its customers. He is responsible for optimizing business performance, delivering revenue and managing operations in more than 50 countries with individual P&L (Profit and Loss) centers and nearly 4,000 employees. Full bio Jim Davis Jim Davis, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for SAS, is responsible for providing strategic direction for SAS products, solutions and services and presenting the SAS brand worldwide. Additionally, he oversees a number of operational units including Publications, Education, and Alliances and Channels.
