Kay Meyer

Kay Meyer
Program Director for the Statewide Data Integration Program, North Carolina Office of the State Controller

Kay Meyer has over 20 years of experience in private sector and government lines of business in the application of information technology. She has led in the design, development and support of information systems, including business process reengineering, data integration and business analytics, in manufacturing, contract management and finance industries.

Kay has worked with the North Carolina Office of the State Controller for over twelve years and currently serves as the Program Director for the Statewide Data Integration Program, with primary responsibility for managing CJLEADS, a criminal justice data integration and analytics system currently being deployed statewide, and a new fraud, waste and overpayment detection program.

Kay holds a Batchelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from George Washington University.

Tom Laing
Director of Market Research for TSE Services, a technical services company owned by North Carolina's electric cooperatives

Tom began his career as a commercial and industrial energy auditor for Gainesville Regional Utilities in Florida. Tom joined the electric cooperatives in 1989 and is responsible for load forecasting, load research and demand-side planning activities. Tom also manages a national market research practice providing on-going market intelligence to electric cooperatives from coast to coast, including the cooperative’s national brand, Touchstone Energy. Tom holds a B.A. from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.

For more than 30 years, Twiddy & Company has managed a portfolio of exceptional vacation properties on the northern Outer Banks of North Carolina. As Chief Maintenance Officer, Clark Twiddy uses SAS to manage budgets, expenditures and maintenance to provide exceptional customer service. With pools, hot tubs, small work orders, each property has multiple maintenance needs. With SAS, Twiddy & Company was able to automate the maintenance schedule for hot tubs and pools and reduce the error rate. The result is improved customer satisfaction.

Doing cost analysis and segment analysis, Clark quickly determines what to focus their efforts on. Using SAS, Twiddy & Company measures service response and costs to determine value so they can spend in the most reasonable way possible with their 1200 vendors. For Clark, it all comes down to better service response for the guest.
