  • SAS hosts American TV icon Jerry Mathers, now diabetes patient advocate (May 20, 2009)
    Jerry Mathers, best known as the mischievous Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver on the hit TV show Leave It to Beaver, visited SAS on Tuesday to describe innovative medicines under development for treating diabetes. Mathers, who has successfully managed his diabetes for more than a decade, encouraged SAS employees to take advantage of the many healthy-living programs that SAS offers workers and their dependents.
  • New Report Shows Record Number of Medicines Currently In Development to Treat Diabetes (May 19, 2009)
    The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) unveiled a new report today on medicines in the research pipeline for diabetes. The report shows that America's pharmaceutical research and biotechnology companies are testing a record 183 new diabetes medicines. The medicines listed in the report are being tested in human clinical trials or are awaiting approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
