Russ CobbVice President, Alliances and Product Marketing
Russ Cobb leads the Alliances and Product Marketing organizations at SAS, the world's largest privately held software company. In his Alliances capacity, Cobb directs an alliance and channel program focused on creating significant new revenue for SAS through global and regional system integrators, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), value-added resellers (VARs), distributors, outsourcers and offshore development and service providers worldwide. The channel will successfully sell and deliver business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data integration capabilities in an unprecedented manner for SAS by focusing on the small and medium business marketplace. Cobb also leads the Product Marketing organization for SAS. This group drives the strategic planning and go-to-market approaches for promotion, pricing and distribution for all SAS offerings across served industries, as well as delivering internal sales and management training for SAS. After joining SAS in early 2002 to lead partnering efforts with global system integrators and outsourcing providers, Cobb moved to marketing in 2004. There he established a Financial Services strategy group and then an organization responsible for the launch and marketing of new SAS offerings. He assumed his product marketing responsibilities in 2005 and began overseeing system integrator launches, partner training efforts, and the development of packaging and pricing models for resellers in early 2007. He also led efforts, in alignment with the SAS direct sales team, to define customer segmentation guidelines for the partner channel. Russ joined SAS after eleven years in the consulting profession. During his tenure at Marakon Associates, he specialized in corporate and business unit strategy development for multinational clients in a variety of industries. In an earlier stint at Accenture, he led systems development and implementation efforts for customers in the financial services, consumer-products and utilities industries. Russ earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and his BS in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University. |
