Stage 2 - Project Definition
This stage uses the customer vision as the basis for creating a
focused definition of the project and its requirements. Typically this will involve an
Assessment exercise to investigate project objectives, existing customer environment and
technical architecture and SAS's capability to deliver a solution.
The output is a proposal that includes high level initial estimates of the resources required plus costs and time scales, produced using the Delphi technique. This stage may also include the first versions of the Risk, Issue and Change logs that will inform and support project delivery.
- Risk Log - identifies high level risks, probabilities, impacts and contingency plans
- Issue Log - covers strategic issues within the customer organisation that may impact on later stages
- Change Log - includes any requirements identified as being clearly outside the scope of the initial project vision
