SAS Professionals breaks 10,000 mark

20 February 2014 - SAS Professionals, (www.sasprofessionals.net), a social network for SAS users, has signed up its 10,000th member. The milestone was reached last month with the addition of Steven Stewart of Tesco Bank to its ranks.
Set up in 2008, SAS Professionals is now the largest SAS social media platform in EMEA and Asia Pacific. Free to use, it allows community members to collaborate, ask questions and provide support to other users of the big data analytics tools SAS provides.
Kevin Meachen, Professional Services Director, SAS UK & Ireland, said: "One of the aims of SAS Professionals is to extend learning beyond the classroom and provide peer-to-peer support and insight. We do this by encouraging people to join post-course groups where they can access additional material and data, as well as contact their course leader and other students with any questions. Community members can also access the expert channel, a free video service offering online tutoring, live-streamed events and a wealth of videos focused on SAS technologies and solutions.
"In addition to being a resource for users, SAS Professionals also helps us to understand our customers better, by giving us an accurate picture of how they are actually using SAS and the nature of their queries. This milestone is significant as it highlights the groundswell of SAS users and Mr. Stewart knows he has 9,999 other users he can reach out to for ideas and answers to any questions."
All members of the network are also invited to gather once a year for the SAS Professionals Convention where they can meet other members' face-to-face, share ideas and listen to expert speakers.
