SAS puts spotlight on risk scoring at Smart Borders 2014
24 June 2014 - SAS Public Security will be using its appearance at Smart Borders 2014 (24-25 June, Exhibition Hall, One Whitehall Place, London, UK) to highlight the key role of risk scoring in identifying high-risk travelers and freight.
Peter Snelling, principal technical account manager, SAS Public Security, says: "Border management agencies today face having to balance competing demands around security convenience and cost. They need to decide whether to carry out checks on huge numbers of travellers, resulting in long delays and inconvenience or scale down the checks and risk letting in travellers that are illegal or pose a threat.
"Our border management solution helps address these issues through advanced analytics to determine which travellers are most likely to be illegal or high-risk. This in turn helps border agencies reduce security risk and drive efficiencies for the high volume movement of people and goods," says Snelling
Snelling will concentrate on how analytics can help border agencies improve customs targets in presenting, "Risk Scoring of Passengers and Cargo for Improved Customs Targets" in stream B of the conference (14.30 – 15.30, 24 June).
SAS is a sponsor of Smart Borders 2014 and is also exhibiting at booth 1 on the show floor, where industry experts will be on hand to discuss the main issues and challenges facing border management today and the benefits of using the SAS for Border Management solution to address and resolve them.
