The 58th World Congress of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) welcomes SAS as Premier Sponsor

14 March 2011 - The 58th World Congress of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) is proud to announce that SAS will be the Premier Sponsor for this prestigious scientific meeting. Taking place in the Convention Centre Dublin from the 21st – 26th August, the Congress will attract between 2000 and 3000 delegates from all over the world to Ireland and SAS will work closely with the National Organising Committee and the ISI Head Office in The Hague to ensure a rich, innovative and enjoyable meeting is experienced by all stakeholders.

Gerry O'Hanlon, Director General, Central Statistics Office, Ireland and Chairman of the ISI 2011 National Organising Committee said 'We are delighted to welcome SAS as our headline partner for the 58th Congress and to be able to continue the strong relationship that ISI and SAS have developed over the years. SAS have a worldwide reputation for excellence and innovation in the development of statistical analysis systems and it is therefore fitting that this is reflected in their sponsorship of the Dublin event. ISI Dublin 2011 is not just an opportunity to show our international peers the best that Dublin and Ireland has to offer as a business and leisure tourism destination, it will also demonstrate that Ireland is a leading place in which to do business and make excellent contacts for the future.'

John Farrelly, Head of SAS Ireland continued 'We are delighted to once again be associated with the ISI Congress, particularly as the headline partner for Dublin 2011. ISI Dublin 2011 gives us the perfect platform to connect with several thousand statisticians from around the globe in meaningful discussion and engage in a mutually beneficial learning experience. Some of the exciting new research we will be presenting at the Congress includes a collaborative paper with the Analytics Institute on administrative data sources and its potential to predict the employment outcomes for people over the period of economic downturn, using innovative analytical and visualisation techniques. We will also have a substantial presence on the exhibition floor throughout the Congress where we will be available to talk through and demonstrate our new technological advances to whoever would like to drop by. We are very much looking forward to August in Dublin and what we are sure will be a stimulating and worthwhile meeting.'
