SAS forms Health and Life Sciences Global Practice18 June 2007 - SAS, the leader in business intelligence, today announced that the company has extended its commitment to the life sciences industry by forming the SAS Health and Life Sciences Global Practice. This new division within SAS has been established to serve the growing need for technology and solutions that will further fuel the convergence of healthcare providers, health plans and biopharmaceutical companies. The SAS Health and Life Sciences Global Practice will improve the quality and affordability of patient care around the world through deeper scientific and business insights driven by focused industry expertise and sales support, the introduction of a broader portfolio of solutions encompassing the entire health and life sciences enterprise, and tighter alignment and coordination across SAS functions. "The ability to harness synergies all across the value chain is redefining the health industry," said Chris Connor, Senior Research Analyst at Health Industry Insights, an IDC company. Jason Burke has been named Worldwide Director of the SAS Health and Life Sciences Global Practice. Burke has a strong track record in leading health and life sciences initiatives at companies including Microsoft, Quintiles and GlaxoWellcome.
