SAS UK launches Live Web TrainingSAS’ online training meets increasing demand for SAS skills, whilst helping companies to optimise training budgets and stay environmentally friendly22 January 2009 - SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, announces the launch of SAS UK’s Live Web Training, a new interactive delivery mechanism for SAS UK Education’s training courses. Live Web Training will meet increasing demand for SAS skills by providing users across Europe with the flexibility to receive online training, whenever and wherever needed. Training course content will be identical to SAS’ classroom-based courses, but will result in reduced overall training costs, decreased environmental impact and lowered impact on daily work-loads. Current environmental and economic concerns are putting pressure on companies to maximise their training efforts and ‘do more with less’. SAS’ Live Web Training reduces the time out of the office by eliminating travel and accommodation costs thus helping firms to meet these objectives. Furthermore, SAS’ online training provides the consistent quality of training expected from SAS’ classroom courses. Expert instructors will continue to guide the interactive learning and answer questions in real time. SAS is already running Live Web Training courses for US customers from its headquarters in Cary, NC, proving it is a modern, effective and repeatable way of learning. The online training targets the emerging new generation of learner, who are used to using less linear, more interactive ways of training. Attendees will be able to view the training over a web-conferencing system, ask questions and engage with the instructor, watch recorded sessions and log into SAS over the internet to do the exercises, without even needing to install SAS on their machines. Ian Manocha, Managing Director of SAS UK states: “Good companies understand that, through tough economic conditions, they need to continue the investment in up-skilling their workforce in order to retain their best people and emerge stronger relative to their competition. We’re seeing continued demand for SAS skills in the market; Live Web Training will help our customers and partners continue their investment in acquiring SAS skills whilst making the most out of their training resources.” Taster sessions for Live Web Training are free to attend and the first two will take place on 23rd January and 4th February. Full paid-for sessions will start in March and continue through to 2010.
