London mayor invites SAS CEO to join business advisory councilJim Goodnight will assist London Mayor Boris Johnson on developing opportunities, initiatives and ideas03 December 2008 - Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS, the leader in business analytics, has joined a group of international business leaders who will advise Mayor of London Boris Johnson on developing opportunities, initiatives and ideas for the capital city. The overall task for the International Business Advisory Council, according to the charge given to its charter members, is “to advise the Mayor of London on policies, projects, lobbying efforts, initiatives – anything – that could make London an even more appealing place for companies, and company people, to live and work in.” “I’m pleased and honoured to be asked to participate,” Goodnight said. “London is a great city and a world capital, and SAS has a strong presence in the UK –employees as well as customers.” Goodnight attended the inaugural meeting of the council Oct. 4-5. Topics included a discussion of what makes a city liveable, improvements to quality of life London could implement, and strategies businesses and policymakers could pursue to help London and Londoners deal with the current economic downturn. The council is scheduled to meet annually.
