Role-based learning

Implement SAS® Projects More Effectively

The SAS Partner Academy will use a series of practical, real life case studies that groups of consultants will explore and solve. These case studies will be augmented by formal training detailing the technical and functional knowledge needed to install, configure, test and deploy our software as part of an overall client solution.

The Academy programme is role-based and divided into two workstreams:

  • SAS® Enterprise Intelligence Platform
  • SAS® Solutions.

Each of the workstreams will hold events to cover the full life cycle of a SAS implementation project; from scoping and planning, via analysis and design, through to testing, deployment and optimisation. These events will map to SAS’ implementation methodologies and provide a roadmap for learning.

The SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform workstream will cover data integration, intelligent storage, analytics and business intelligence. The SAS Solutions workstream will cover:

  • Risk Management
  • Financial Intelligence
  • Customer Intelligence.

As the SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform is the base for SAS solutions, this will form the start of the Partner Academy programme.

There are a number of common modules which will be offered to all members in the Academy program. These will offer an insight into SAS methods and tools, how to access technical support, and what services are available to partner implementation teams.

Real-Life Worked Case Studies

Academy modules are written using case studies based upon worked examples of real implementations. These case studies will form the basis for team-based discussion and debate. members will apply their specialist knowledge to these scenarios, giving and receiving feedback from others in their workshop. The aim is to provide as realistic a learning experience as possible.

Where appropriate, the make-up of groups will include more than one role. For example, as part of the Scoping and Planning workshop, project managers will work through the case study alongside technical and business consultants. members may be asked to role-play during these workshops to bring out key learning points.

Facilitated by Subject Matter Experts

Academy authors will also act as facilitators when their modules are delivered; working alongside additional experienced SAS consultants who will be on hand to support the workshop and practical discussion groups. This expertise is being drawn from SAS offices across the globe, and includes contributions from our Worldwide Headquarters, Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific regions.

Individual contributors are being selected for their experience and expertise in particular areas. Academy members will have the opportunity to meet some of the leading names within the SAS organisation, building networks and improving their knowledge base of leading practice.

Where appropriate, the Academy will publicise events that are taking place in other SAS locations around the world. members will be invited to augment their professional development by participating in these in addition to the local academy provision. This may be of particular benefit to consultants who belong to practices that work in a number of countries or geographies, or where time constraints drive attendance at the next available sessions.
