How Do I Change Key Definitions in X Resources within the SAS Resource Helper on a Unix Platform?

You can use SAS Resource Helper to change various key definitions within X Resources.

For example you may want to change the "End" key from its default action of "Submit" to go to the "End of Line".

To do this you can use the SAS Resource Helper, as follows:-

Type in "Reshelper" in the SAS command box.

You will see two pushbuttons appearing: "Keys" and "Colors".

Select "Keys" and then select the pushbutton "Click here and press the key you want to define".

Press the key you require to modify, in this example "End" and you will see the definition appear in the empty box below.

Modify the definition to read: NoneosfEndline: sas-move-end() \n\

Highlight the new definition and click the right arrow key to move the definition into the "User Defined Keys:" box.

Select "OK" to save the settings and then File ' Exit.

To modify the text associated with the key, bring up Tools ' Options ' Keys.

Change the text next to the key "End" from "Submit" to something like "End of Line" so you know what the new definition does and then File ' Close.

You will need to re-start your X Windows session for the new settings to take effect.

For the available key definitions, search the "SAS Online Doc" for:
"Customizing Key Definitions in UNIX Environments".
