SAS® Certification

SAS® Certified Professional Program

This program offers professional qualifications designed to assess SAS knowledge at a job role level rather than of a particular version or release of SAS. Made up of four tracks, each certification requires the successful completion of one or more exams to earn a credential. Each exam has been developed according to defined international standards and is based on survey results and feedback from SAS professionals. SAS® Certified Base Programmer for SAS®

This qualification is designed to assess your knowledge of SAS programming essentials. To take this exam you should have at least one year’s SAS programming experience and be able to import and export raw data files, manipulate and transform data, combine SAS data sets, create basic detail and summary reports using SAS procedures, and identify and correct data, step syntax and programming logic errors.

Studying for the SAS® Certified Base Programmer Qualification for SAS®9

Simply attend our SAS Essentials: An Introduction to SAS Programming and SAS Programming: Data Manipulation Techniques courses, or alternatively the SAS Certified Base Programmer Fast Track course. A comprehensive web-based study guide and practice exam are also available.

SAS® Certified Advanced Programmer

This qualification is designed to assess your knowledge of advanced SAS programming, efficiency and data management. You should have a minimum of three years’ experience in programming and data management using SAS, be knowledgeable in using advanced DATA step programming statements, using efficiency techniques to solve complex problems, writing and interpreting SAS SQL code, and creating and using the SAS Macro facility.

Qualifications

SHU MSc in Business Intelligence

SAS, in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), has created the SAS MSc in Business Intelligence, designed to develop a new generation of SAS Business Solutions professionals.

Successful completion of the course, research project and the SAS Certification exam will result in the award of the MSc Business Intelligence and SAS Certification.

Course content

Areas of study include:

Full, part-time and distance learning (DL) routes are available and all students undertake SAS training. Full-time students study at the University for approximately nine months (DL students for ten months) before returning to their sponsoring organisations, or finding appropriate opportunities, to start work as SAS Business Solutions professionals. They will also be required to complete a dissertation in order to qualify for the MSc.

The IDM Certificate in Applied Marketing Analytics

This new qualification has been specifically designed for analysts who are primarily working with marketing data. Developed by The Institute of Direct Marketing in conjunction with SAS, the course provides both a detailed understanding of direct marketing and the statistical concepts required for sound marketing analysis. By attending the course, students will understand the drivers within direct marketing and the vital role data, and data analysis, has in this rapidly growing discipline.
