Where SAS is making a differenceOur software started life in academia 30 years ago. Today, SAS is used by many thousands of people at academic institutions across the globe: in different ways, for different purposes, to achieve a multitude of objectives and outcomes. The focus is on getting results. BUSINESS SCHOOLSThe world's leading business intelligence software, SAS continues to be of great interest to business schools. For example, leading international business schools use SAS technologies and subject specialists to demonstrate solutions to real-life business challenges to MBA and MSc students. SAS solutions taught include:
Thought Leadership: the SAS Academic Programme partners with respected academics specialising in areas of interest to SAS and SAS usage. This brings academics into close contact with C-level SAS customers, ensuring a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and experiences. Executive Training: working with lecturers at international business schools, the Academic Programme positions SAS solutions to executives on MBA and specialist MSc courses as well as executive short courses. INFORMATION SCIENCE & ENGINEERINGSAS is present in 98% of Fortune 100 companies and many of the large UK and Ireland government departments. As SAS dominates the business intelligence market, SAS-based skills are increasingly in demand. The SAS Academic Programme works closely with Computer Science and Engineering Schools to ensure that IT graduates develop proven skills in key areas including:
Specialist MSc programmes are also under development, for example:
BUSINESS ANALYTICS & STATISTICSWithout trained statisticians and analysts, BI software risks becoming an expensive 'white elephant'. This is why the SAS Academic Programme is at the forefront of ensuring universities can produce highly employable SAS analysts. More than 50 of the top UK and Ireland universities are already teaching SAS analytics to undergraduates, while SAS analytics form the core of a growing number of specialist MSc courses including:
SAS analytics training is the most rigorous in the commercial world - and all of our training materials are available to lecturers as part of the Academic Programme.
The SAS Life Sciences Academy:SAS ticks all the boxes: the world leader in business analytics software, it's also the standard for clinical trial data analysis, the FDA standard for electronic submission, and the choice of the Fortune 500 life science companies. However, people with experience of SAS for the pharmaceutical industry are in short supply in the UK. The SAS Life Sciences Academy addresses this shortfall by providing graduates with an opportunity to fast track into SAS programming roles. This ensures an ongoing resource of SAS programmers for pharmaceutical organisations. The Academy runs a course, initially over three weeks, with a guaranteed placement in the pharmaceutical industry for each student following. A further week of training follows later and, if successful, students are awarded SAS accreditation. For more information on the SAS Life Sciences Academy please visit www.sas.com/uk/academy or email sas@srg.co.uk. |
