SAS Positioned as a Leader in Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools

CARY, NC (11 okt. 2013) – SAS is in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner Inc.'s latest Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools .1 SAS® Data Management technology, including SAS Data Quality was evaluated on a number of criteria, including functionality, integration, ease of use, customer support and product road map.
In the report Gartner defines Leaders as those that "demonstrate strength across a full range of data quality functions, including profiling, parsing, standardization, matching, validation and enrichment. They exhibit a clear understanding and vision of where the market is headed, including recognition of noncustomer data quality issues and delivery of enterprise-level data quality implementations. Leaders have an established market presence, significant size and a multinational presence (directly or as a result of a parent company)."
"SAS' Data Management technologies, including its data quality tools, have long delivered an interface designed for both IT and business as well as an engine that supports all types of data," said Jim Davis, SAS Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. "In addition, the latest version added advanced big data functionality, including embedding data quality within Teradata environments. These enhancements are extremely important given the many types of users that need to access a multitude of big data sources."
SAS Data Quality is part of a unified suite of products designed for all areas of data management, including data integration, master data management, event-stream processing, data federation and data quality. In July SAS Data Integration technologies were named a Leader in their category by Gartner as well.
In September SAS announced new technologies and upgrades to its SAS Data Management family of products. Additions include in-database data quality, minimizing data movement and dramatically reducing the time needed to transform raw data into usable, quality assets, as well as updated SAS Event Stream Processing that seamlessly brings streaming data into data management processes for high-volume, real-time tasks.
"SAS enables users to approach data quality from every angle, whether during bulk movement of data or in real time at the transaction level. Business users can also establish data hierarchies and reference data definitions for even more control over business information," added Davis. "Now that we've fully integrated the DataFlux suite of products into SAS software, customers have simplified access to all SAS solutions, founded on quality data."
