SAS among top five employers in Germany among companies up to 500 employees; SAS Switzerland for the first time takes No. 1

HEIDELBERG, GERMANY  (26 april 2013)  – SAS, one of the world's largest independent software companies, is one of the most popular employers in Germany and Switzerland. According to the rankings of Germany's best employers in 2013 from Great Place to Work® Institute, the company came in fifth in the category for companies up to 500 employees . In Switzerland SAS took first place in the category of companies with up to 250 employees.

For the rankings, Great Place to Work conducted anonymous surveys of company employees on topics such as leadership, quality of cooperation, development opportunities, salary and other categories. SAS is regularly recognized worldwide for employment practices. In November 2012, the software company was named the world's best multinational employer. No. 1 rankings were also achieved this year by Sweden and Greece. SAS employs 546 in Germany (as of January 2013) and generated 2012 revenues of €134.6 million.

"The people who work for SAS are the basis for our continued success as a company. To keep it that way, we continue to develop our unique corporate culture at SAS. Now and always in the future it remains the highest priority," says Wolf Lichtenstein, CEO of SAS Germany and vice president for the DACH region. "The current top rankings in Switzerland and Germany again confirm this chosen path. We look forward as a team to continuing to make the SAS workplace the center of our strategy. In addition, high customer satisfaction points up the link between a positive corporate culture and success in the market."

"No. 5 in Germany and No.1 in Switzerland are great result and new proof that we are succeeding in integrating our employees and developing a strong team spirit," said Dorothea Schwalbach, Director of Human Resources at SAS Germany. "Sustainability is very important to us, because we want to continue to grow with new employees. At SAS, we support an employer brand that has emerged from our culture as it is actually lived out. We are an authentic and unmistakable employer, and we look for employees who fit with our culture.

"Employer rankings from Great Place to Work serve primarily as a barometer for the climate in the company. Employee benefits, which continue to improve, always provide a good measure for our program," said Schwalbach. "The fact that we are successful ultimately shows the positive business effect over the years. But even more important is that that we achieve this success together, and that each has with us the feeling of having helped."
