SAS CTO: Has big data helped you lately?

Keith Collins discusses CIO's transformational role, unlocking the value of big data

CARY, NC  (20 maj 2013)  – Keith Collins, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of business analytics leader SAS, will speak to CIOs and senior IT executives at the 2013 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium. He will join more than 50 presenters from a wide range of industries, as well as leading academics from MIT to discuss how to derive value from big data and optimally manage IT infrastructure to accommodate growth.

Collins, who leads R&D, Information Services and Technical Support at SAS, ensures that SAS® technologies align with customer needs and market demand. In addition to Collins, Dr. Graham Hughes, Chief Medical Officer for the SAS Center for Health Analytics and Insights, will be speaking. The May 22 event delivers insight from academic research with counsel from business leaders on ways to operate in the face of complexity and dramatic change.

Exploit big data to gain rapid, accurate insights

Read the SAS special report Big Data, Bigger Opportunities about organizations using high-performance analytics to fight fraud, identify disease outbreaks and lower credit risk. The result? Taxes are lower when governments reduce fraud expenses, communities are healthier when disease outbreaks are pinpointed and treated earlier, and economies are stronger when banks better understand risk.

"The CIO must be nimble and navigate not only the technology playing field, but the entire changing business enterprise," said Kathleen Tetrault, the 2013 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium Chair. "Our speakers provide direction on embracing change caused by economic, social, political, environmental and technological forces, to lead organizations in an increasingly adaptive and upward path."

Nearly 700 CIOs and senior IT executives will attend the 2013 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium Wednesday, May 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at MIT’s Kresge Auditorium, 77 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA.
