Resumo da apresentação: Accurate forecasts allow managers to reduce supply chain costs, respond quickly to dynamic market changes and meet performance management objectives better. Successful organizations depend on statistical forecasting to provide the foundation for many important planning and decision-making processes. SAS® Forecast Server facilitates and speeds the forecasting process allowing for large-scale automatic forecasting, model building, and time series exploration. Examples from different industries will be presented to illustrate the value of enterprise forecasting. Biografia: ![]() Udo Sglavo, as a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, Germany, with a Diploma as "Diplom-Mathematiker" Udo has been using SAS from the early days of his education and as a major component of his final thesis ("Visualization of Nonlinear Optimization Problems using SAS/OR and SAS/AF"). He joined SAS Europe in Heidelberg in 1996 as an applications developer working on the SAS Neural Network Application, which was superseded the neural networks node of SAS Enterprise Miner. As part of this re-organization Udo moved on to EMEA Technical Support to establish the second level support for SAS Enterprise Miner, but also helped supporting products like SAS/ETS, SAS/STAT, SAS/QC, SAS/OR and SAS/INSIGHT. In 1999 Udo joined a start-up company called IMOS Consulting, which focused on providing services for Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics. Together with the 2 founders Udo helped developing IMOS from a three-employee-only company to a SAS and IBM consulting partner with 20 employees in Switzerland and Germany. He was responsible as the director of the business unit analytics to develop and grow his unit. As one of the lead consultants he was also responsible for group of 3 analytical consultants (focusing on data mining and optimization projects). One of the common accounts of IMOS and SAS, Meyer Werft, a ship yard in Germany, received a price for "innovative business applications" by SAS Germany in 2006. When SAS offered Udo the role of the product manager in EMEA Strategy for SAS High-Performance Forecasting in 2001 he decided to return to SAS picking up this new challenge. He helped collecting and providing feedback from the field and from early adopters on this first release of an automatic, large-scale forecasting product, which eventually was included and extended by SAS Forecast Server. Together with WWM Udo helped launching SAS Forecast Server in 2005 and was one of the main resources for rolling out the product both in EMEA and APAC. He also adopted responsibilities for SAS/OR, which he helped re-launching only recently. In 2005 Udo was asked to supervise a new team for Supply Chain Analytics, which covered solutions like SAS Warranty Analysis, SAS Inventory Optimization, and SAS Service Parts Optimization. Udo has been a speaker at numerous SeUGIs (and SAS Forum International), regional User Groups, and SUGIs (now SAS Global Forum), but also at events of the Institute of Business Forecasting and the University of Darmstadt. He has handled numerous on site customer engagements, has written and reviewed numerous whitepapers and spoken at both a technical and management level to many organizations. |
