CARY, NC (July 09, 2008) – SAS, the leader in business intelligence software and services, announced that Nucleus Research selected IBM as a 2008 recipient of its Technology ROI Award for its implementation of SAS® business intelligence software. This award recognizes companies whose skillful deployment of IT solutions has produced a positive, bottom-line financial return on investment (ROI). Deploying SAS business intelligence software enabled IBM’s semiconductor facility to realize a 386 percent ROI within a payback period of less than four months. Companies that receive Nucleus Research’s Technology ROI Award demonstrate the link between IT strategy, business goals and ROI. IBM demonstrated the link by simplifying the troubles its semiconductor reporting programming team was having in regards to keeping up with the reporting requirements for the engineering and manufacturing teams. In addition, IBM made report creation easier so that individual users would have faster access to the information they needed. Finally, IBM wanted to guarantee that data integrity could be maintained even as more users had access to it. With SAS, IBM was able to put reporting tools directly into the hands of its users, while ensuring consistent access to the information needed for better decision making. “This award highlights IBM as an ideal example of how valuable it is for a business to align its IT investments with its business goals,” said Rebecca Wettemann, Vice President of Nucleus Research. “By evaluating a number of options and selecting SAS business intelligence software, IBM was able to gain significant cost and productivity savings, resulting in a 386 percent ROI. Today, more than 600 users access SAS on a regular basis to generate reports for managing day-to-day operations and decision making.” About Nucleus Research SAS |
