SAS launches new series of Business Education CoursesDublin, Ireland, 10. May 2006 - SAS, the leader in business intelligence, today announced the launch of its new SAS Business Knowledge Series of education courses. The series will bring to Ireland leading industry experts in the areas of Risk Management, Customer Acquisition and Retention. The first of these courses is ‘Developing Credit Risk Solutions for Basel 2’. This will run from the 14th-16th of June 2006 at the New Horizon Computer Learning Centre and will be presented by Prof. Lyn Thomas and Dr. Bart Baesens from the School of Management at the University of Southampton. About the Lecturers
He has already successfully organised this course on various continents where it has been attended by more than 200 people from financial institutions. Prof. Lyn Thomas is professor of management science at the University of Southampton and one of the directors of the Quantitative Financial Risk Management Centre based there. He has researched in credit scoring for more than 25 years and has written or edited three books on the subject as well as over 40 research papers. He has acted as a consultant to a number of financial organisations on credit scoring and Basel, including Lloyds TSB, ANZ, HBOS, HSBC and several building societies.
