With SAS®, UniCredit speeds reporting, reduces effort through enhanced data management
Bank benefits from comprehensive view of data on finance, customer relationships, compliance
CARY, NC (14. maj 2013) – UniCredit Bank's SAS data management serves multiple masters, generating reports for the finance department, customer relationship management and anti-money laundering initiatives. Through its corporate data management, Russia's largest foreign bank provides a comprehensive view of business data to users, built on a single foundation for reporting from multiple information systems.
"SAS' powerful and scalable technology enhances and strengthens our data warehouse," said Diego Rampoldi, Head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at UniCredit Bank. "Thanks to more efficient and faster business processes, we expect quick return on our investment. Building such an infrastructure requires time and highly trained skills, but we are already reaping the rewards with a rapidly growing data warehouse user base."
With SAS Banking Analytics Architecture, data is consolidated across the institution and making it easily accessible for analytics and reporting, to ensure consistency, reduce costs and data preparation time, for fact-based decisions. The underlying SAS banking data model serves as a single version of the truth, covering all key banking subject areas.
Using data from the warehouse has already reduced the efforts and time required to prepare a range of business unit reports. There has also seen a significant reduction of errors in reports, which are more widely available to a larger number of business users through the corporate business intelligence portal.
An important success factor for the first project phase was the active participation of business departments and users. UniCredit Bank had to balance its needs with project constraints, such as time frames, budgets and legacy system limitations. "The complexity of implementing a data warehouse can only be surmounted by the coordination and cooperation of everyone, from business users to ICT," said Olga Goncharova, Chief Accountant at UniCredit Bank. "Most importantly, because of our efforts, the bank can appreciate a long-term advantage resulting from data integration and quality."
