SAS Platforma zvítězila nad BO, Ascential a Excel v projektu IAS a management reportingu za 1.4 millionu EUR

Data Integration Server a Enterprise BI Server zvítězili v souboji s Excel (Roland Berger) a Business Objects (Deloitte) v Bayern LB - regionální centrální bankce, jedné z největších bank v Německu.

Existing mainframe customer Bayern LB wanted to modernise their existing architecture (to include UNIX platform) in order to meet IAS reporting requirements as well as enhance management information. Initial recommendations by Roland Berger and Deloitte indicated a preference for Excel and Business Objects, Ascential later also joined the list of competitors.

The ultimate decision was to move the older SAS 8 mainframe applications to the modern SAS 9 platform and integrate Data Integration Server and Enterprise BI Server, the competitors fell down on the following points which are now achievable:

  • single point of control
  • low maintenance effort
  • Integration into existing systems infrastructure
  • no additional cost of migrating existing systems
  • flexible, adaptable and therefore future-proof intelligence strategy
  • strategic and scalable enterprise intelligence platform

Additional benefits the customer achieves through this move are

  • 50% performance enhancement in distributed environment (mainframe and Unix) over pure SAS 8 mainframe environment
  • lower runningh costs
  • single technology platform (training and maintenance effort)
  • higher user friendliness
