Business analytics leader SAS Institute recently announced that the company got the 2nd place in the “Best places to work in Belgium 2009” survey that is conducted annually by the Great Place to Work® Institute.
This is the second year that SAS took part in the general category of the survey, which is meant for companies of less than 500 employees.
On May 21 SAS ended on the 9th place in the 2009 list of Best Workplaces in Europe, within the category of large companies with more than 500 employees.
The list is based on 16 national Best Employer studies in Europe in which more than 1350 European companies were questioned, or a total of 1.1 million workers. After an extensive survey, conducted by CRF in collaboration with international HR research and advice bureau, the Hay Group, recently published their list of 35 Top Employers … and SAS Belgium was up there with the best.
This annual objective survey is conducted independently and looks at five primary factors in their adjudication: primary conditions of service, secondary conditions of service, internal promotion opportunities, training and education, and organizational culture. The results were prominently announced in Jobat and are also displayed on the websites of CRF and Jobat. SAS Belgium achieved a top score of 5 stars on four of the five factors and 4 stars in the remaining factor, an outstanding performance against any standards. The survey is conducted by means of extensive questionnaires and personal in-depth interviews with key role players, all under the watchful eye of a panel of highly respected HR specialists. This achievement allows SAS Belgium the right to use the title Top Employer and the CFR logo on all promotional material for its recruitment drives for one year.
