SAS Intelligence Briefing

Data mining

09 October 2008 at SAS Forum Belux - Louvain-la-Neuve

Data mining is the process of selecting data, exploring data and building models using vast data stores to uncover previously unknown patterns. Forward-thinking organizations today are using SAS data mining software to detect fraud, anticipate resource demands, increase acquisition and curb customer attrition.
With SAS data and text mining software, you can:

  • Build a model of the real world based on data collected from a variety of sources, including corporate transactions, customer histories and demographics, and external sources.
  • Use the model to produce patterns in the information that can support decision making and predict new opportunities.
  • Apply such analysis techniques to text-based documents.
  • Produce new knowledge to better inform decision makers before they act
This Intelligence Briefing will take place during our SAS Forum on 9 October in Louvain-la-Neuve.
This session will consist of an introductory presentation at 11.00, followed by a hands-on session and one or more presentations planned throughout the day giving a more thorough insight in the topic.
